Floral Encouragement Card

Good afternoon! It's been awhile since I've played along with a ColourQ challenge but when I saw the colours this week, I knew I had to participate. I'm not really a fan of pink, but I really like a pink and brown colour scheme. The layout for this Floral Encouragement Card comes from Tuesday Morning Sketches and it was designed by Laura Nehring. I love the way the sketch is laid out, it has a wonderful main focal point and just enough detail without becoming fussy. You might notice I've sanded my embossed panel again. I'm really into sanding right now! I LOVE the way it enhances the embossing. The flower was stamped using the rock-n-roll method. If you look closely you can tell the tips of the flowers are darker than the center. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy your day!

Embossed Blossom Card

Hello! I hope you had a great day! I've been rearranging and organizing my craft room. Every inch of the floor has been vacuumed and everything dusted. It's amazing how fast everything goes from clean to cluttered. Oh, well! Later this evening I took a break and made this Embossed Blossom Card for a couple of challenges. The crumb cake card stock was dry embossed using the fancy fan embossing folder by Stampin' Up! and the detail on the perfect plum blossom was heat embossed using a translucent pearlustre embossing powder by Zing!. The crumb cake tulle was accented with a raspberry ripple bow that I stitched in place. I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Little Duck Baby Card

Hello and happy Monday! Are you looking for a fun card challenge to participate in? The theme challenge this week at Created With Love Challenges is Baby Shower Cards. Our sponsor is Meljen's Designs and my Little Duck Baby Card was created using the Little Pull Duck image. I kept the card gender neutral because I never know which one I'll need. The design for my card comes from the Deconstructed Sketch no. 86 by Jen Shults. I coloured the image with my Copic markers and added Stickles to the duck for a little sparkle. The pacifier paper is by The Paper Studio and the Sweet Baby stamp is from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set by Stampin' Up! I hope you will play along with us this week and link up your baby shower card creation. Thanks for stopping by!

Feel Better Card

Going through my card stash I noticed I didn't have any Feel Better Cards. This sentiment is not the first thing that springs to mind when I'm making a card, but with all the illness going around this winter I figured I needed to have a couple on hand. So, I made this Feel Better Card using my new Secret Garden stamp set and Framelits Dies by Stampin' Up! The design came from The Paper Players sketch challenge and the colours were inspired by my couch. Check out the photo below with the adorable feline who thinks the couch is hers. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

You Drive Me Bananas Card

Good afternoon! We have reached the middle of the week, hooray! This afternoon I've been playing around with my stash and trying to come up with a Valentine card for a boy. In the end I created this You Drive Me Bananas Card. The monkey paper is from The Paper Studio topped with a 3" heart I cut with my Cricut machine and the sentiment was made using the computer. I know it's nothing fancy but it's simple, cute, and it has a monkey sticking it's tongue out which makes me chuckle. Thanks for stopping by!

Valentine's Card

It's Friday! That means it's time for a CAS-ual Fridays challenge. The challenge this week is to make a LONG and SHORT card, so for this Valentine's Card I made it 4 x 8. I like making cards this size but sometimes I just forget about it, so this was a fun challenge for me. The patterned paper is the new More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper  by Stampin' Up!.  I love the mix of colours in this paper. Party Cat Birthday Card

Good morning fellow card enthusiasts! We had a very cold weekend here in Oklahoma. So, I spent a lot of time in the house. Part of my weekend was spent cleaning my crafting space. It's amazing how I found things I forgot I had by just cleaning and looking through my stuff. Other than that, I really didn't do a lot this weekend. Now it's Monday and time for another challenge at Created With Love Challenges. This week our theme is Critter Birthday. That means you need to make a birthday card with a critter on it. I used a cat, which is my favorite critter! Our sponsor this week is the Scrapbook Stamp Shop, they feature a variery of products and embellishments to make one of a kind projects. My Party Cat Birthday Card was made using a sketch from the Clean & Simple Stamping Blog. The colored Party Time Cat digital stamp is from Meljen's Designs. Since the image was already colored it made this card come together quickly. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I hope you will play along and make a critter birthday card for our challenge.

Cards from the Heart Card Drive

Hello Friends! I wanted to share with you a Valentine's Card Drive for children who are in the hospital. Cards go to St. Jude and other hospitals who need them. Winter Sims is the organizer and here is a link to her blog Winter Wonderland. You will find a detailed list of guidelines and her address. She needs to receive the cards no later than January 31. I participated last year at the last minute and this year I plan to make as many cards as possible. They don't have to be fancy or elaborate (in fact there are rules for that) but something made from the heart to put a smile on a child's face. I can't think of a better way to make a difference with a hobby I LOVE. I hope you will join me and make Valentine's cards for the Cards from the Heart Card Drive. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Welcome Wall Hanging

Good morning! Are you ready for a challenge this morning? How does ANYTHING BUT A CARD sound? That's the theme this week for the Created With Love Challenge. I've made this Welcome Wall Hanging using the Bundled Owl image from our sponsor Cedar Chest Designs. I have to admit when I started this project I had NO idea what I was making! I didn't have many fancy supplies laying around the house to use so I searched through my Cricut cartridges for inspiration. I found the tree frame on the Cindy Loo cartridge and cut that out. I decided to make a starry snow scene for the bundled owl, but when I was done with it I didn't really know what to do with it. I looked around my house and saw a wall hanging I had up for the holidays and the *stars* went off. So, that's what I made a Welcome Wall Hanging. See, all you have to do is start and the project will eventually come to you.

Welcome Wall Hanging Directions:
  1. Use comic book board or something sturdy for the main part. The finished size is 8" wide by 7" high. Cover the board with patterned paper, I used night of navy dsp by Stampin' Up!.
  2. Cut frame image using Cricut machine at 5", Cindy Loo cartridge.
  3. Create a winter scene by cutting the night of navy card stock slightly smaller than the frame and adding the details you desire.  I used the Starry Sky all over the page punch by Martha Stewart. Adhere a glittery card stock to the back of the punched star card stock and then add snow drifts to the front. Accent snow drifts with Stickles and spray the whole scene with ice Radiant Rain shimmering mist by Creative Imaginations. Let dry.
  4. Print Bundled Owl digi image and color with Copic markers. Fussy cut image and add crystal effects to eyes, let dry.
  5. Cut Welcome with Cricut machine using the Alphalicious cartridge at 1 1/4". I used white card stock for my shadow letters and the same glitter card stock I used for the stars as the main part of the letter. Adhere letters together using a Xyron create-a-sticker.
  6. When everything is dry, adhere frame to the winter scene and attach owl image with dimensionals/foam tape. Measure and punch holes and secure your ribbon. Attach frame image using dimensionals/foam tape and then place your Welcome letters centered below frame.
That's it! This makes a great handmade gift idea, so let your imagination run wild and see what you can come up with. Thanks for stopping by my blog and I hope you play along with our challenge.

Silver Star Thank You Card

Today's challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is to create a thank you card. This was the perfect time to open my new Starry Sky all over the page punch by Martha Stewart. My brother & his wife bought it for me for Christmas and I needed to make them a thank you card. So, this Silver Star Thank You Card was made for them with the punch they gave me. I used Midnight Muse card stock and a thank you stamp from the Sassy Salutations set by Stampin' Up! I heat embossed the sentiment with silver embossing powder. The silver star was cut with my Cricut machine and I added a little bling to finish it off. A super easy card! Thanks for stopping by my blog and have a wonderful weekend!!!
