Handmade New Year's Card

Hello! I hope you're having a wonderful weekend! My crafting buddy was sunning himself in my craft room, so I couldn't resist hanging out with him and making a card. This Handmade New Year's Card was inspired by the photo challenge at Just Us Girls. I kept the design casual to play along with CAS-ual Fridays Happy New Year challenge.  I went with a monochrome brown color scheme. You can't really tell from the picture but the light tan is a glitter card stock by DCWV, which adds some sparkle. The clock patterned paper is by Karen Foster and the text print paper is from Stampin' Up!. The New Year sentiment is from a clear mini stamp set by KaiserCraft (CS926). There are only a couple of days left in 2013 and I hope you enjoy them. Thanks for stopping by!

Layered Snowflakes Thank You Card

It's time to write my thank you cards for all the lovely presents I received at Christmas. This Layered Snowflakes Thank You Card was made for my brother and sister-in-law. They bought me several punches for Christmas and I used one of them to create the small Island Indigo snowflakes in the center of the layers. I used my Big Shot to die-cut the larger snowflakes. The base snowflake is a die-cut by Sizzix (656731) and the silver glitter center portion is a retired die-cut from Stampin' Up! All the papers and thank you sentiment stamp are by Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.

Greetings of the Season Card

Merry Christmas! I hope you enjoy time with your family today. Our family gatherings are all done and it's just the hubby and I at home today. We are having a very quite day and that gave me some time to make this Greetings of the Season Card. I used the new Petite Petals stamp set and punch from the upcoming Celebrate the Everyday catalog from Stampin' Up! The stamp set and punch will be available beginning January 3rd. I used the Top Note die and colors in Garden Green and Real Red. The sentiment is from the retired Greetings of the Season stamp set and the final touch was the addition of Rhinestone Basic Jewels. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Wrapping Paper Christmas Card

What do you do with all the small scraps of paper from wrapping presents? Well, I decided to use them to make a Christmas card. When I was younger I used to make collages out of the wrapping paper my presents came in. My family used to get tired of me going slow so I could "save my paper." It's fun to make a card like this and could be a wonderful craft project for kids. All you need is scraps of wrapping paper, scissors, and glue sticks. Thanks for stopping by and wishing you a very Merry Christmas!

Pink Snowflakes Snowman Card

Most of my Christmas cards are made with traditional colors but I made this Pink Snowflakes Snowman Card for my teenage niece. The pink glitter snowflakes paper is from a Recollections paper pack I bought a couple years ago. I've used the Snowman Star image by Bugaboo and colored it with my Copic markers. The layout is from a previous challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches from August 2013. Here is a link to my original birthday card I made using this sketch. I really liked this sketch the first time and I like it equally as well the second time. The sentiment stamp is by Stampabilities and I've used the Label Bracket Punch layered with a 1 3/4" Scallop Punch both by Stampin' Up!. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Christmas Kitten Card

Our family includes two furry feline children and they each enjoy Christmas. The lights on the tree and fighting over who gets to lay under the tree are a big deal to them. I found this Christmas Kitten stamp by Stampendous! last year on clearance and immediately knew it had to be mine. As you can image, I really enjoyed creating this Christmas Kitten Card. The holly paper is from Graphic 45 and I paired it with a Cherry Cobbler polka dot dsp by Stampin' Up!. I added some dazzling details to the hat for some sparkle and there are three basic jewels hiding in the upper corner. I colored the kitten with my Copic markers using shades of Warm Gray. This will make a great card for my hubby and that's one more card to check off my list. Thanks for stopping by and have a great night and pleasant tomorrow!

Precious Nativity Christmas Card

Sometimes cards don't turn out the way I originally envisioned them and that's definitely the case with this Precious Nativity Christmas Card. I'm not totally happy with my choice of patterned paper and it seems I got a little carried away with my gold Stickles. I should have gone with the less is more approach and stopped after I did the polka dots. Oh well, we live and learn, right? On a positive note, I really love the stamp by Stampendous! and it coordinates nicely with the inside sentiment by Print Works Collection. The star was cut with my Cricut machine and I used the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set by Stampin' Up! for the Merry Christmas sentiment. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Owl with Tree Christmas Card

I hope everyone is staying warm today! We've been getting sleet today and we are expecting snow to start this evening. That gives me an excellent excuse to stay in my craft room. This afternoon I created this Owl with Tree Christmas Card. The layout for this card is from the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I tried to clear out some of my old Christmas patterned paper from the Eskimo Kisses collection by Basic Grey. It's been in my stash for awhile and keeps getting pushed to the bottom. I really like the colors in this collection and thought the owl stamp by Stampendous! would coordinate well. I dug deep into my sticker stash and found the two star stickers by K & Company. It seems I always buy stickers but rarely use them. The image was colored with my Copic markers (BG45, E15, E23, E25, E27, E31, E55, R35, R59, R83, G99, YG17, YR27, and Y28). Well, that's about it. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful night and pleasant tomorrow!

Heaven Hears Card

When I first saw the digital image used on this Heaven Hears Card, I knew I needed it. There are times I want to send an encouragement card to my nieces and the sentiment and Angel Birdie image by Doodle Panrty are just perfect. My sister passed away a couple of years ago and there is not a day that goes by that we don't miss her. Over the Thanksgiving holiday I could see my nieces missing their mother. I figured now was a good time to remind my nieces that Heaven hears their every prayer. The layout for this card is from the sketch at My Time To Craft and the papers are from The Paper Studio and Stampin' Up!. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.
